City government eyes management of district hospital

CEBU, Philippines - A special committee was created by the City Council to study the proposed transfer of management and operations of the Ormoc District Hospital from Leyte provincial government to Ormoc City government.

A city official said Leyte governor Carlos Jericho Petilla raised this plan after hearing Mayor Eric Codilla's plan to put up a city hospital.

The special committee will be chaired by Vice Mayor Nepomuceno Aparis. The members are health panel chair, Councilor Rafael Omega, Councilors Ruben Capahi and Mario Rodriguez, city administrator Dennis Capuyan, assistant city health officer Virginia Espina and the mayor's executive assistant Manuel "Apao" Pascual.
