Russell Cadayona - Pilipino Star Ngayon

“There are good Iran players who can make it to the NBA, perhaps a Filipino or some Asian players from other countries can make it there also in the future,” wika ng 7-foot-6 na si Yao sa pamamagitan sa press conference kahapon ng Philippine-China Friendship Games sa Grand Ballroom ng Solaire Hotel and Casino sa Pasay City.

“I’m afraid it may not happen, my injury will not allow me to do that plus there’s no jersey for me anymore,” sabi ni Yao, nagretiro sa NBA noong 2011 matapos ang walong season sa Rockets.

Itatapat naman ng Gilas Pilipinas sina naturalized player Marcus Douthit, June Mar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar, Gabe Norwood, Jeff Chan at Gary David at sina cadet members Greg Slaughter, Kevin Alas, RR Garcia, Garvo Lanete, Matt Ganuelas, Jake Pascual at Ronald Pascual.
