MANILA, Philippines – Nangako ang United States Agency for International Development (USAID) na magbibigay ng $20-million o P871 milyon para sa mga nasalanta ng bagyong “Yolanda.”

Sinabi ni USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah na kabilang sa kanilang ibibigay na tulong ang mga emergency food at critical relief supplies tulad ng shelter materials at hygiene kits tulad ng sabon, shampoo, toothbrush at toothpaste.

Dagdag niya na makakatulong ang kanilang mga ipapamahagi upang hindi rin magkalat ang mga sakit sa komunidad na binayo ng pinakamalakas na bagyo sa buong mundo ngayong taon.

Bukod sa pera at mga relief supplies, magpapadala rin ang USAID ng 55 metric tons ng nutritious bars and paste para mabigyan ng nutrisyon ang mga biktima ng limang araw.

Samantala, nagpadala na ng airmobile hospital at rescue workers ang Russia’s Ministry for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (EMERCOM) upang tumulong sa mga biktima.

“In line with an instruction issued by the Russian government in the light of a request from the Philippines, EMERCOM is sending two Ilyushin-76 jets that will deliver a hospital of the Centrospas emergency medicine center, rescuers and psychologists to area affected by the calamity,” pahayag ni Oleg Voronov, hepe ng Center for Response to Critical Situations ng EMERCOM sa Russian news agency Itar-Tass.

Nangako rin ang gobyerno ng Chile na magpapadala ng humanitarian aid sa Pilipinas.

Nagpaabot rin ng tulong ang mga sumusunod na bansa:

  •     AUSTRALIA - US$10 million package
  •     BELGIUM - medical and search and rescue personnel
  •     CANADA - C$5 million
  •     CHILE - humanitarian aid
  •     DENMARK - KR 10 million
  •     EUROPEAN UNION - EUR 3 million
  •     GERMANY - 23 tons of relief goods
  •     HUNGARY - search and rescue personnel and rapid response team
  •     INDONESIA - in-kind donations
  •     ISRAEL- team of medical, trauma and relief professionals
  •     JAPAN - emergency relief medical team
  •     MALAYSIA - medical and search and rescue teams
  •     THE NETHERLANDS - undisclosed financial aid
  •     NEW ZEALAND - NZ $2.15 million
  •     NORWAY - KR 20 million
  •     RUSSIA - rapid response team, rescue workers and an airmobile hospital
  •     SAUDI ARABIA through Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - US$100,000
  •     SINGAPORE - $50,000
  •     SPAIN - in-kind donations
  •     SWEDEN- emergency communications equipment
  •     TAIWAN - $200,000
  •     TURKEY - medics, rapid response team, search and rescue personnel
  •     UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - Dhs 36 million
  •     UNITED KINGDOM - £6 million and $9.6 million worth of emergency support package
  •     UNITED NATIONS Children's Fund - $1.3 million worth of supplies
  •     UNITED STATES - initial $100,000 for water and sanitation; Troops, emergency respondents, transportation and equipment
  •     VATICAN - $150,000
