Bagong motor tanker, pinasinayaan ng Herma Shipyard sa Bataan
MARIVELES, Bataan, Philippines — Pinasinayaan ng Herma Shipyard Inc. (HSI), isang 100% Filipino-owned ship building at ship repair company sa ilalim ng Ship Building and Maritime Infrastructure Division (SBMID) ng Herma Group, ang 12MB tanker na pinangalanang Motor Tanker Mayabong (M/Tkr Mayabong), dito sa lalawigan.
Ang launching at christening ceremonies sa M/Tkr Mayabong ay pinangunahan ng chairman at CEO ng Herma Group na si Herminio S. Esguerra nitong nagdaang Biyernes sa Mariveles.
Ang nasabing barko ay ginawa para sa sister company na Herma Shipping and Transport Corporation (HSTC). Kapag nai-deliver na, ang nasabing barko ay maituturing na isa sa mga pinaka-fuel efficient at “environmentally sustainable home-grown product tankers” sa Pilipinas.
Tiniyak ng nasabing shipping company na ang pagbuo ng M/Tkr Mayabong ay naaayon sa mga patakaran o panuntunan ng Maritime Industry Authority o MARINA at Philippine Registry of Shipping class rules and regulations.
Ang M/Tkr Mayabong ay may kabuuang kapasidad na 2,208.00 cubic meters o 12,000 U.S. barrels.
“The vessel, along with others in its fleet, will contribute tremendously to fueling the Philippine economy,” pahayag ni HSI Chief Operating Officer Atty. Nathaniel S. Joquiño, ret. Capt. ng Philippine Navy.
