CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines — Nagsimula nang magtrabaho bilang bagong regional director ng Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal at Quezon) Police si P/Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces, kahapon.

Ito ay matapos ang pormal na command turn-over nito sa puwesto na ginanap dito sa kampo, kahapon ng umaga at pinangunahan ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rolando Azurin Jr., na magreretiro naman sa Lunes.

Pinalitan ni Gaces si Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. na itinalaga naman bilang PNP acting director for comptrollership kasunod ng pagreretiro ni Major Gen. Jesus Cambay Jr., na nagsilbing director for comptrollership ng PNP.

Si Gaces ay miyembro ng Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Patnubay Class of 1995. Siya ay galing sa iba’t ibang unit ng PNP kung saan inokupahan niya ang iba’t ibang administrative at operational offices noong 2003. Siya ay dating naitalaga sa Police Regional Office 2 bilang Executive Officer ng Public Safety Management Company at kalaunan bilang chief ng Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division noong 2004.

Sa kanyang mensahe, sinabi ni Gaces ang kanyang kagalakan sa bagong tungkulin at nagpasalamat kina Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong’”Marcos Jr., Senador Imee Marcos at pamilya-Marcos sa tiwala at kumpiyansa na pamunuan nito ang Calabarzon Police.

“Hindi ko kilala si Gaces (I don’t know him personally) But when he stood his ground to get his one star, Doon ko nakilala si Gaces,” ani Azurin sa kanyang speech.

Sinabi ni Gaces na itutuloy niya ang programa at patakaran ng dating Calabarzon police director.
