GenSan jail guard timbog sa buy-bust
MANILA, Philippines – Nasakote ang isang provincial jail guard matapos bentahan ng shabu ang isang ahente ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sa General Santos City.
Nakilala ang suspek na si Rex Morsal, 35, ng Upper Masagana, Barangay Lun Padidu, Malapatan, Sarangani Province prison guard sa Sarangani Provincial Jail.
Nakorner si Morsal nitong kamakalawa matapos bentahan ng isang pakete ng shabu ang undercover agent ng PDEA sa Quezon Avenue, Barangay Dadiangas North, General Santos City bandang pasado alas-9 ng umaga.
"What is ironic is that Morsal put into jeopardy the discipline instituted in correctional facilities. His job is to keep prisoners under tight watch while in custody, not engage in illegal drug activities. Now he finds out what life is like spending time in jail," pahayag ni PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr.
Nahaharap si Morsal sa kasong paglabag sa Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) at Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, o ang Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Kung mapatunayang nagkasala si Morsal ay maaari siyang maharap sa habambuhay na pagkakakulong at multang hindi bababa sa P500,000.
