P640M halaga ng droga sinira ng PDEA
MANILA, Philippines – Daan-daang milyong halaga ng ilegal na droga at marijuana ang sinira ng mga awtoridad ngayong Miyerkules sa probinsya ng Cavite.
Ayon sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), higit Php640 milyong halaga ng ilegal na droga, poppy seeds at expired medicines ang kanilang sinira sa Integrated Waste Management Inc., sa Barangay Aguado, Trece Martirez City, Cavite.
Pangunahing panauhin ang ilang opisyal ng gobyerno kabilang si Senador Grace Poe, tagapangulo ng Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs.
Isinagawa ang pagsisira sa mga ilegal na droga sang-ayon sa Republic Act 9165, o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, at sa Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No.1 series of 2002.
Umabot sa 240,694.10 gramo ng shabu, ketamine, ephedrine, cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, zolpidem, flunitrazepam, poppy seeds, expired medicines at 2,250 milliliters ng liquid cocaine ang sinira ng PDEA.
“Based on the consolidated report of the PDEA Laboratory Service, shabu represents 81.3 percent, or P523.90M, of the total amount of illegal drugs destroyed through thermal decomposition,†pahayag ni PDEA Chief Arturo Cacdac Jr.
Bukod kay Poe na naging guest of honor at speaker, dumalo rin ang mga kinatawan ng Department of Justice, Department of the Interior and Local Government, non-government organizations at media.
