2 drug pushers kulong habambuhay

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Ha­bambuhay na pagkabilanggo ang inihatol ng mababang korte laban sa dalawang miyembro ng drug syndicate matapos mapatunayang nagbebenta ng bawal na droga noong 2009 sa bus terminal sa Baguio City.

Sa 6-pahinang desisyon na ipinalabas ni Judge Antonio Reyes ng Baguio Regional Trial Court Branch 61, napatunayang sina Roy Tagtag Along at Agosto Cayat Baldo, ay guilty sa paglabas sa Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Bukod sa hatol na ha­bambuhay ay pinagbaba­yad ang dalawa ng P.2 mil­­yong kada isa bilang danyos perwisyo sa pamahalaan.

Binalewala naman ng hukom ang alibi ng dalawa bagkus ay binigyang timbang ang mga testimonya ng mga tauhan ng Phil. Drug Enforement Agency na nagsagawa ng buy-bust operation sa Dangwa bus Terminal noong June 13, 2009.

Sina Along at Baldo ay nakumpiskahan ng 5-bricks ng pinatuyong dahon ng marijuana matapos maaresto sa isinagawang operasyon ng PDEA

“There is no evidence of any improper motive on the part of the anti-drug agents who apprehended Along and Baldo,” adding, “the defense witnesses even admitted that they did not know the apprehen­ding (PDEA agents) and that they had no quarrel with said law enforcers. With this admission by the defense, it is readily clear that the claim of frame-up is baseless.” Pahayag ni Judge Reyes sa kanyang desisyon.

Sina Along at Baldo ay ililipat sa National Penitentiary sa Muntinlupa City, ayon sa tagapagsalita ng PDEA na si Emely Fama.

Awtomatiko namang rerebisahin ng Court of Appeals ang desisyon ni Judge Reyes laban kina Along at Baldo.
