In a statement, DFA spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza said the “Department notes the ongoing investigation being conducted by relevant law enforcement agencies regarding alleged espionage operations allegedly being conducted in the Philippines by a foreign national in collaboration with Filipinos.”

MANILA, Philippines — Nakikipag-ugnayan na ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa counterpart nito sa Estados Unidos dahil sa ulat na ititigil na ng Amerika ang pagbibigay ng ayuda sa mga bansa na posibleng tamaan ang Pilipinas.

Sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cesar Chavez, pag-aaralan ng gobyerno kung ano ang magiging epekto nito sa bansa.

“The DFA is closely monitoring reports on the possible freeze of US fo­reign assistance and will work with partners in the US Department of State and the US government to determine how this will affect the Philippines,” pahayag ni Chavez.

Matatandaan na ipinag-utos ng US State Department ang “sweeping freeze” sa pagbibigay ng pondo sa halos lahat ng US foreign assistance maliban na lamang ang food programs at military aid sa Israel at Egypt.

Bukod rito, ­nanganganib na mawalan na rin ng pondo ang US-funded projects sa health, education, development, job training, anti-corruption, security assistance at iba pa.

Ginawa ng US State Department ang pahayag ilang araw matapos makapanumpa sa tungkulin si US President Donald Trump.
