Suspensyon ng buwanang kontribusyon itutulak ng Kamara

MANILA, Philippines — Dahil maraming nakatabing pondo ang PhilHealth ay titignan ng Kamara de Representantes kung maaaring suspendihin ang pangongolekta ng premium contribution kapag napatunayan na maaari itong gawin.
Ito ang sinabi ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez sa kanyang talumpati kamakailan at sinabi rin nito ang pagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon ng Kamara.
“This investigation is not about blame; it is about finding solutions. Our goal is clear: to ensure that every peso in Philhealth’s coffers works for the benefit of its members - the hardworking Filipino people who contribute month after month,” ani Speaker Romualdez.
Kung hindi maaari ang pagsuspendi ng kinokolektang kontribusyon, maaari umano na ang irekomenda ng Kamara ay bawasan ito o itaas ang benepisyong natatanggap ng mga miyembro.
“Why are we doing this? Because the people deserve no less. Philhealth exists to provide security and comfort in times of medical emergencies. It should not hoard resources at the expense of its members. If we can alleviate the burden of contributions without compromising its sustainability, we will do so,” saad ni Romualdez.
Mananatili umanong mapagmatyag ang Kamara at igigiit ang pangangailangan ng transparency at accountability sa paggamit ng pondo ng gobyerno.
