Marcos, itinalaga si Sen. Angara bilang bagong DepEd chief
MANILA, Philippines — Itinalaga na ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. si Senador Sonny Angara bilang bagong kalihim ng Department of Education (DepEd).
Sa isang Facebook post kahapon, sinabi ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) na i-aappoint na niya si Angara bilang DepEd Secretary kahalili ng nagbitaw na si Vice President Sara Duterte.
“President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has announced that he is set to appoint Senator Juan Edgardo ‘Sonny’ Angara as the new Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd), replacing Vice President Sara Duterte who resigned last June 19, 2024, effective July 19, 2024.” saad sa post.
Ang anunsiyo ay ginawa ni Pangulong Marcos sa ika-17 cabinet meeting sa Palasyo ng Malacañang kahapon.
Si Angara ay kilala bilang tagpagtaguyod ng edukasyon ng bansa. Nagtapos ang senador sa Master of Laws sa Harvard University, Bachelor of Laws sa University of the Philippines, at Bachelor of Science in Economics sa London School of Economics.
Nagpasalamat naman si Angara sa tiwala ni Pangulong Marcos. — Malou Escudero
