Hindi isang krimen ang ‘red-tagging’ - NSC

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi krimen ang “red-tagging” na pinagpipilitan ng mga komunistang-terorista na walang ibang hangarin kundi ipahiya ang pamahalaan lalo na ang National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

Ito ang nilinaw ni National Security Council (NSC) Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya sa virtual press conference na “FAQcheck: Nothing but the truth” ng NTF-ELCAC, na pinangangasiwaan ng media bureau nito, ang Integrated Communications Operations Center (ICOC).

Diretsahang inihayag ni Malaya na ang isyu ng red-tagging ay hindi polisiya ng pamahalaan lalo na hindi ito magiging isang batas.

Sinuportahan naman ito ni ICOC Director-designate at NTF-ELCAC spokesperson Joel Sy Egco na nagsabi na ang red-tagging ay hindi ‘trademark’ at sa halip ay  panlaban na gamit ng  Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).

Ani Malaya, mahalagang malinawan ang isyu lalo na’t nasa bansa si United Nations Special Rapporteur Irene Khan at malaman ng UN body na kanyang kinakatawan, ang lahat ng tungkol sa red-tagging issue.

Pagdidiin ni Malaya, may mga ilan ng kaso ang naisampa laban sa ilang government officials hinggil sa red-tagging, na ibinasura lamang ng mga hukom dahil wala katuturan man lamang.
