MANILA, Philippines — Walang inaapruba­hang increase sa Motorcycle Taxi Pilot study ang Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Technical Working Group.

“As far as the Motorcycle Taxi Technical Working Group (MC Taxi TWG) is concerned, it has not authorized any increase in rider cap allocation and/or change in rider distribution among the MC Taxi Pilot Study participants,” pahayag ng LTFRB.

Base sa official pronouncement ng MC Taxi TWG noong Pebrero 14, 2020, ang final list ng riders na pinapayagan na mag-operate sa Manila sa Pilot Study Participants ay ang Angkas na may 23,164, Joyride na may 15,000 at Move It na may 6,836.

Kamakailan lamang, inilatag ng Grab Phi­lippines ang ambitious strategy sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalawak ng ri­ders ng 15,000 sa Metro Manila na inanunsyo ng mismong general ma­nager na si Wayne Jacinto.

Matatandaang nasangkot na sa kontrobersiya ang ikatlong player ng MC Taxi Pilot Study.

Hindi na umano bago ang Singaporean company na Grab Philippines sa kontrobersiya nang akusahan ng Lawyers for Commuter Safety and Protection (LCSP) sa “backdoor entry” sa government’s motorcycle taxi program.

Paglilinaw ni LCSP Founder Atty. Ariel Inton, hindi naman tutol ang kanilang hanay sa pagpasok ng bagong player, bagkus dapat gawin ito pagkatapos ng pilot study.

Pag-aaralan pa ng LTFRB kung papatawan ng parusa ang MC Taxi company dahil sa hindi otorisadong pagtataas ng rider cap allocation.
