MANILA, Philippines — “I want all the shabu, residual or otherwise, however minimal, destroy the whole of it by next week. You have so many days to do it, one week. Do it in one week. Destroy and get specimen.”

Ito ang naging kautusan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa lahat ng law enforcement agencies  para sirain ang mga nakumpiskang  illegal drugs gaya ng shabu (methamphetamine)  para maiwasan na ma-recycle at maibenta itong muli.

Ang mga nakumpiskang illegal na droga ay ginagamit bilang ebidensiya laban sa inakusahang drug personality.

“You can also invite the NBI and the forensic guy of the NBI will also conduct the examination at gano’n din sabihin,” dagdag na pahayag ng Pangulo sabay sabing, “We go by science, just the experiment. Why do we have to put on our shoulder the burden of keeping a contraband or merchandise that can be stolen and used and recycled,” dagdag na pahayag ng Pangulo.

Sa pagsira o pagwasak aniya sa mga nakum­piskang illegal na droga ay siguradong magiging maliit ang tsansa na ma- recycle at mabentang muli ang mga ito.

“So we can more or less improve things, better protect the Filipino people, by doing a concerted action, immediately after, just a few, I hope the Supreme Court will agree with me, just a few days after they should be destroyed and be accounted for accurately,” ayon sa Pangulo.

Agad namang tumugon sa utos si Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan at sinabi na ka­yang gawin ng PNP na wasakin sa loob lang ng isang linggo ang mga nakukumpiskang ilegal na droga.

Ayon naman kay PNP spokesman Police Colonel Ysmael Yu, nagtatagal lamang naman ang pro­seso kapag ginagamit pa bilang ebidensya sa korte ang mga nakukumpiskang ilegal na droga. — Doris Franche
