MANILA, Philippines — Nagpalabas kahapon ng kautusan si Pa­ngulong Rodrigo Duterte sa paggamit ng numerong 9-1-1 bilang nationwide emergency hotline.

Batay sa inisyung ­Executive Order 56 ang tatlong numero ay tatawaging “Emergency 911 Hotline” na pangangasiwaan ng  National Hotline Public Safety Answering Center o National Call Center sa ilalim ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG.)

Naging epektibo ang 9-1-1 emergency number noong alkalde pa si Pangulong Duterte sa Davao City kaya’t nais niyang gamitin na din ito sa buong bansa at papalitan na ng 9-1-1 ang umiiral na Patrol 117.

“All fraudulent, hoax, or prank reports shall be dealt with in accordance with existing and applicable laws, rules, and regulations and the implementing rules and regulations of this order,” nakasaad pa sa EO.

Samantala, hiniling sa Local Government Units (LGU) na magtayo rin sila ng kanilang local 911 call centers mula sa kanilang local budgets. Ang local call centers ay nasa ilalim at control pa rin ng national call center.

Ang Bureau of Fire Protection at Philippine National Police officers ang nagsisilbing primary responders sa emergencies.

Binigyang diin ni Duterte na ang paggamit ng serbisyo ng Emergency 911 hotline ay libre.
