2 Mataas na NBI opisyal pinalitan sa puwesto

MANILA, Philippines - Tinanggal sa kanilang puwesto ang dalawa sa may mataas na posisyon sa National Bureau of Investigation  (NBI) na sina Deputy Director for Intelligence Services Reynaldo Esmeralda at Deputy Director for Special Investigation Services Ruel Lasala.

Kaagad ding nagtalaga si Pangulong Noynoy Aquino ng kapalit nila, kasabay ng pagtatalaga ng apat na bagong deputy director ng NBI.

Ang mga itinalagang bagong Deputy Directors sina Atty. Edward Villarta na hinirang bilang Deputy Director for Forensic Investigation Service. Ang posisyon na kanyang hahawakan ay pinalitan ng pangalan mula sa pagiging Deputy Director for Technical Services na dating pinamunuan ng nagretirong si Deputy Director Rickson Chiong;  si  Atty. Ricardo Pangan Jr. na itinala­gang kapalit ni Esmeralda na  hinirang bilang Deputy Director for Investigation Service; si Atty.  Antonio Pagatpat na pumalit kay Lasala ay hinirang bilang Deputy Director for Financial Services; at Jose Doloiras na hinirang bilang Deputy Director for Intelligence Service at ang kasalukuyang Deputy Director Comptroller Services Rafael Ragos ay hinirang bilang Deputy Director Regional Operations Service.

Una nang itinanggi kamakalawa nina Lasala at Esmeralda na tumanggap ng bahagi ng sinasabing  P366-milyon na pondo mula sa Philippine Charity Sweepstakes (PCSO), noong huling tatlong taon sa panunungkulan  ng Arroyo admi­nistration.

Ang nabanggit na kinukuwestiyong pondo ay naging daan ng pagsasampa ng kasong plunder laban kay dating Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
