SSL Pre-Season Championship hahataw bukas
MANILA, Philippines — Magpapaluan ng bola ang 18 top volleyball squads mula sa colleges at universities sa bansa para asintahin ang korona sa 3rd Season ng Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Pre-season Championship na magsisimula bukas sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum sa Vito Cruz, Manila.
Nagbabalik sa nasabing liga ang University of the Philippines at De La Salle University na lumiban sa tournament nakaraang taon, kasama sila sa walong teams mula sa UAAP habang 10 ang kasaling paaralan na miyembro ng NCAA.
“All 18 schools are confirmed. This is our third conference this season. This is our flagship conference. Our main event. The goal really was to get all 18 schools, the 10 NCAA teams and eight UAAP schools. We’re happy that we’re able to do that this year,” ani Dr. Ian Laurel, president ng SSL organizer Athletic Events and Sports Management, Inc. (ACES) sa naganap na press conference kahapon sa Shakey’s Malate.
Puntirya ng UAAP champion National University na sikwatin ang ika-3 sunod na conference crown matapos ang matagumpay na season sa National Invitationals noong Hulyo.
Subalit paniguradong mapapalaban ang Lady Bulldogs sa ibang tigasing teams sa event na suportado ng Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, GCash, Chery Tiggo, F2 Logistics, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken, Potato Corner, R and B Milk Tea at Summit Water.
Hahatiin ang 18 squads sa apat na pools kung saan maglalaban ang NU, Arellano University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Ateneo de Manila University at San Beda University sa Pool A.
Nasa Pool B ang University of Santo Tomas, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Mapua University, University of the East at University of Perpetual Help System Dalta.
Maghahatawan naman sa Pool C ang La Salle, Letran College, Jose Rizal University at UP habang nasa Pool D ang NCAA champion College of Saint Benilde, San Sebastian College-Recoletos at Adamson University.
“We want to showcase the recruits of the teams they’ve acquired during the offseason. The fans can expect new names and new faces. See how they will perform and jell with their teams. Established players will also be playing so we’ll have the full lineup of teams ready to play,” ani Laurel.
