MANILA, Philippines — Nakasiguro pa ng tansong medalya ang Pilipinas mula kay cyclist Patrick Coo sa 19th Asian Games na ginaganap sa Hangzhou, China.

Nasiguro ni Coo ang po­dium finish sa men’s individual BMX racing ka­hapon sa CSC BMX Course.

Naglagak si Coo ng 39.076 segundo upang makuha ang tansong me­dalya.

“I’m very happy but hurting for sure. I ripped my pants in the process and got it fixed immediately,” ani Coo.

Nanguna si gold me-dalist Asuma Nakai ng Japan habang pumangalawa si silver medalist at SEA Games champion Komet Sukprasert ng Thailand.

Nagsumite si Nakai ng 37.542 segundo habang nag­lista naman si Sukprasert ng 38.478 segundo.

Nagkasya naman si Daniel Caluag sa ikaanim na puwesto matapos magsumite ng 40.433 segundo.

Si Caluag ay gold me­dalist noong 2014 Incheon Asian Games habang nakatanso ito noong 2018 Jakarta Games.

“I feel very happy, I went straight to the biggest one, the Asian Games,” ani Coo.

Nagpasalamat si Coo kay Philippine Olympic Committee president Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino na siya ring pangulo ng PhilCycling.
