Isa ang national swimming team sa bahagi ng Philippine delegation na bumiyahe kahapon patungong Hangzhou, China para sa Asian Games.

MANILA, Philippines — Matapos ang kanilang makasaysayang paglalaro sa FIFA Women’s World Cup ay sasalang naman ang Philippine women’s national football team sa 19th Asian Games sa Hangzhou, China.

Babanderahan ni Sari­na Bolden ang Filipinas ka­sama sina veterans Katrina Guillou, Chand­ler McDaniel, Meryll Ser­rano, Sara Eggesvik, Quinley Quezada, Jaclyn Sa­wicki, Reina Bonta, Jessika Cowart, Sofia Harrison, Hali Long, Inna Pa­lacios, Bella Pasion at goal­keepers Olivia McDaniel at Kiara Fontanilla.

Nasa lineup din sina Eva Madarang, Anicka Cas­taneda, Kaya Hawkinson, Natalie Oca at Alisha Del Campo.

Si Mark Torcaso ang ga­gabay sa mga Pinay boo­ters matapos tanggapin ni mentor Alen Stajcic ang coaching job sa Perth Glory men’s team.

“Everyone’s goal is to win something special like this. So, our aim is to get as far as possible that we can in the tournament and hope to play in the final game,” ani Torcaso.

Kaagad makakatapat ng Filipinas ang Hong Kong ngayong alas-4 ng hapon sa Group E pool play sa Wenzhou Sports Centre Stadium.

Tinalo na ng Nationals ang Hong Kong, 4-0, sa first round ng nakaraang AFC Wo­men’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Matapos ang Hong Kong ay lalabanan ng Na­tionals ang Korea sa Lu­nes.

Ang Southeast Asian rival na Myanmar ang ha­harapin nila sa Huwe­bes.

Samantala, bumiyahe kahapon ang mga natio­nal teams ng swimming, gymnastics, esports at rugby para sa kampanya sa Hangzhou Asiad.

Nauna nang umalis ang mga koponan ng men’s indoor volleyball, men’s at women’s beach volleyball, rowing, windsurfing, bo­xing, chess, cycling, fencing, tennis, wushu at shooting.

Sa 2018 Asiad sa Indonesia ay nag-uwi ang tropa ng apat na gold, dalawang silver at 15 bronze medals para tumapos sa No. 19 sa kabuuang 37 bansa.
