Biado pasok sa semis ng World Games

MANILA, Philippines — Sinargo ni world champion Carlo Biado ang 11-7 panalo laban kay Albin Ouschan ng Austria para umabante sa semifinals ng men’s 9-ball singles ng 2022 World Games sa Birmingham, Alabama, USA.

Rumesbak ang 38-anyos na si Biado mula sa 4-6 pagkakaiwan sa kanilang quarterfinals match ni Ouschan para makatabla sa 7-7 patungo sa pagwalis sa sumunod na apat na mesa.

Hangad ng tubong San Juan, La Union na makuha ang kanyang ikalawang gold medal sa World Games matapos magkampeon noong 2017 edition na idinaos sa Wroclaw, Poland.

Makakalaban ng reig-ning US Open champion at Southeast Asian Games gold medalist na si Biado sa semis si Joshua Filler ng Germany na tumalo kay World No.1 Shane Van Boening, 11-3, sa quarterfinals.

Samantala, minalas si world champion Rubilen Amit nang makalasap ng 8-9 kabiguan kay Veronika Ivanovskaja ng Germany sa quarterfinals ng women’s 9-ball.

Sa jiu-jitsu, tumapos si Vietnam SEA Games gold medal winner Annie Ramirez sa fourth place via submission loss kay Laurence Fouillat ng France sa women’s 57kg.

Bigo naman sa quarter­finals ng muay thai sina reigning world champion Philip Delarmino at Leean­na Christylle Bade.
