Philippine beach volleyball squad asam ang tiket sa AVC Finals

MANILA, Philippines — Bukod sa inaasam na podium finish ng Philip­pine national beach volleyball team sa 30th Southeast Asian Games ay target din nilang ma­kuha ang ti­ket sa 2020 Asian Volleyball Confe­deration (AVC) Continental Cup Fi­nals.

Walang humpay ang pagsasanay ng national women’s at men’s teams para sa kanilang pinakahihintay na pagsalang sa biennial meet na hahataw sa Biyernes sa Su­bic Tennis Court.

Ayon kay team ma­nager Charo Soriano, nasa Subic na ang pambansang koponan noon pang Biyernes para sa kanilang paghahanda at pagsasanay.

“We are fortunate to be able to be at the ve­nue early and we are sche­duling training both in the morning and in the evening so the athletes can get used to the sand and lighting conditions,” sabi ni Soriano.

Ibabandera nina Sisi Rond­ina at Bernadeth Pons, Dzi Gervacio at Dij Rodri­guez ang wo­men’s squad at sina Ed­mar Bonono at Jude Gar­cia at Jaron Requinton at James Buytargo ang maglalaro sa men’s division.

Nakipagsabayan ang Nationals sa mga fo­reign teams sa 2019 Re­bisco Beach Volleyball International Open sa SM By The Bay sa Pasay City.

Magsisilbing Southeast Asian Zonal qualifier ng AVC Continental Cup ang SEA Games kung saan ang gold me­dalist ay diretso na sa third phase (Finals).

Ang magkakampeon sa torneo ay papasok sa 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
