MANILA, Philippines — Halos wala pang isang taon ay muling isusuot ni big man Mike Miranda ang uniporme ng NLEX para sa darating na 2019 PBA Governor’s Cup na nakatakda sa Setyembre 20.

Muling nakuha ng Road Warriors ang 6-foot-6 na si Miranda matapos ang one-on-one trade sa NorthPort Batang Pier kung saan ang hininging kapalit ay si shooting guard Juami Tiongson.

Ang nasabing palitan ay inaprubahan kahapon ng PBA Commissioner’s Office.

“It so happened that Mike was available. Since Mike came from our team before and knows my system, he became a natural consideration,” sabi ni coach Yeng Guiao kay Miranda na dati nang katambal ni veteran center JR Quiñahan sa frontline ng NLEX.

Naglaro si Miranda para sa Road Warriors noong 2017 hanggang 2018 bago nai-trade sa TNT Katropa at nailipat sa NorthPort.

Ayon kay Guiao, ayaw sana niyang ibigay si Tiongson, sumalo sa naiwang trabaho ni star guard Kiefer Ravena na napatawan ng suspensyon ng FI­BA dahil sa pagiging positibo sa paggamit ng illegal substance na nakita sa kan­yang energy drink. At sa halip ay isang second-round pick ang handang ibi­gay ng Road Warriors sa Batang Pier.

“The mere fact that they insisted that he be part of the trade proves how much he has grown,” wika ni Guiao sa dating Ateneo Blue Eagles guard. “He had actual­ly just been granted a contract renewal with NLEX before the trade, which is an in­dication that he’s going to be in the league for a while.”
