Height at experience krusyal sa PSL Finals
MANILA, Philippines – Inaasahang gagamitin ng nagdedepensang Petron ang kanilang height advantage pati na ang malawak na eksperyensa sa pagsagupa sa Foton sa best-of-three championship series ng 2015 Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix women’s volleyball tournament bukas sa Cuneta Astrodome.
Matapos kumuha ng dalawang korona sa PSL ay kinatawan naman ng Blaze Spikers ang bansa sa AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship sa Vietnam.
Muling ipaparada ng Petron sina Brazilian ve-teran setter Erika Adachi at Rupia Inck katuwang sina Dindin Santiago, Aby Maraño, Rachel Anne Daquis, Frances Molina, Fille Cayetano at skipper Maica Morada.
Itatapat naman ng Foton sina American imports Katie Messing at Lindsay Stalzer bukod pa kay national team mainstay Jaja Santiago at kina setter Ivy Perez, backline defenders Bia General, Kara Acevedo at Patty Orendain.
“I’ll go for Foton,” sabi ni Philips Gold coach Francis Vicente, inangkin ang bronze medal matapos talunin ang Cignal via four-set win.
“Their setter is slowly picking up her game to compliment the powerful attacks of Jaja and Messing from the middle. Of course, Stalzer will remain their leader. She was the one who carried them during the semis.”
Naniniwala naman si Cignal coach Sammy Acaylar na tangan ng Blaze Spikers ang mental edge laban sa mas batang mga Tornadoes.
