Roach may plano para kay Cotto
LAS VEGAS -- Ngayon pa lamang ay iniisip na ni trainer Freddie Roach ang susunod na laban ni Miguel Cotto.
Naniniwala si Roach na tatalunin ni Cotto (40-4-0, 33 KOs) si Canelo Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) sa Linggo sa Mandalay Bay Events Center.
Kung mangyayari ito ay umaasa si Roach na maitatakda ang rematch nina Cotto at Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
“I would love for (Cotto) to win this fight by knockout, call out (Floyd) Mayweather and then end it,” sabi ni Roach.
“He always tells me ‘If I had you in my corner when I fought him I would have knocked him out.’ He tells me that story all the time,” dagdag pa ng five-time Trainer of the Year awardee kay Cotto.
Noong Mayo ng 2012 ay natalo si Cotto kay Mayweather via unanimous decision at inagaw sa Puerto Rican ang dating suot na light middleweight title.
Noong Setyembre ay inihayag ni Mayweather ang kanyang pagreretiro matapos mapantayan ang record na 49-0-0 card ni heavyweight legend Rocky Marciano.
Naniniwala si Roach na tatalunin ni Cotto si Mayweather, tinalo si Manny Pacquiao, kung maitatakda ang rematch.
