Rama sumikwat ng bronze

MANILA, Philippines – Inangkin ni Wendil Jay Rama ng Meralco/MVP Sports Foundation ang bronze medal sa World Cadet Championships sa Muju, Korea.

Umiskor si Rama ng 13-0 panalo laban sa kanyang Brazilian rival at 10-4 tagumpay kontra sa isang Palestinian sa preliminary round.

Tinalo ni Rama ang kanyang nakaharap na German, 18-8, sa quarterfinals.

Nakuntento siya sa bronze medal nang maisuko ang 5-9 decision kay Amir Valipour ng Iran sa semifinals.

Sina Alvin Taraya at John Paul Lizardo ang tumayong coaches ng Meralco/MVP SF national Cadet team na sinuportahan ng SMART, PLDT, Philippine Sports Commission at ng Philippine Olympic Committee.

Ang iba pang miyembro ng koponan ay sina Mat­thew John Ongtangco, Dineson Wilrej Caneda, Arjan Deandre Calimon, Marco Antonio Rubio, Rohann Josh Mendoza at Ejay Dongbo sa men’s di­vision at sina Royda Jane Ranile, Anne Sharmaine Albarracin, Allysia Louise Caabay, Camille An­drea Miraflores, Josea Dizon, Gilwel Ann Jyna­mac Irang, Shaira Isabel Garbanzos at Karina Marie Uy sa women’s category.
