30 rebounds kay Warner Dominante

MANILA, Philippines – Bagama’t medyo may kaliitan ay nagdomina si import Calvin Warner sa rebounding sa kanyang naitalang franchise-best at league season-high na  30 rebounds habang naasahan ng Globalport ang kanilang upang dimolisahin ang Blackwater Elite, 101-78 sa  PBA Commissioner’s Cup sa Smart Araneta Coliseum kagabi.

Bagama’t mas maliit ng halos five inches kaysa kay Blackwater import Marcus Douthit, ang 6-foot-5 na si Warner  ay mas angat pa sa kanyang nakolektang 23 defensive rebounds at pitong offensive board na naging susi sa back-to-back win ng Batang Pier na umangat sa 4-3 win-loss record.

“I’m thankful to the guys, they’re responding to my challenge,” sabi ni coach Eric Gonzales ng Globalport na galing sa 99-81 panalo kontra sa Barako Bull noong Miyerkules. “The challenge is that we don’t settle for just doing okay and we don’t take Blackwater lightly. We have to keep going hard, be efficient, and we should have no dead time.”

Sa ikalawang laro, pinangunahan nina import Michael Dunigan at Greg Slaughter ang Ginebra sa pagposte ng 22 at 19 puntos tungo sa 96-87 panalo kontra sa defending champion Purefoods na nagsulong sa Gin Kings sa 3-3 panalo-talo.
