Pirma na lang ang kulang? Sa Pacquiao-Mayweather fight?

MANILA, Philippines – Halos lahat ng pabor ay ibinigay na ni Filipino world eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao kay American world five-division titlist Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Ito ay para lamang matuloy ang kanilang pinakahihintay na upakan sa ibabaw ng boxing ring.

Sinabi kahapon ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions sa panayam ng The Examiner.com na ang lagda na lamang ni Mayweather ang kanyang hinihintay para maplantsa ang laban nito kay Pacquiao.

“As far as we are concerned, we’ve negotiated all of the points, and we are all in accord. Pacquiao signed off on everything, and we are ready to rumble,” wika ni Arum.

Pumayag na ang 36-anyos na si Pacquiao na itakda ang laban nila ng 37-anyos na si Mayweather sa Mayo 2 na posibleng gawin sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hindi rin umalma ang Sarangani Congressman sa 40/60 purse split kung saan maaaring tumanggap si Mayweather ng $120 milyon bilang premyo.

“Everything is agreed to. People need to understand that. Everything is agreed to by my guy (Pacquiao) and his (Mayweather’s) representatives. Manny has signed off, now we are just waiting for the other side to deliver Mayweather,” ani Arum.

Ayon pa kay Arum, si Les Moonves ng CBS, ang parent network ng Showtime kung saan may exclusive contract si Mayweather, ang kanyang kinakausap para matuloy ang super fight.

“There’s no question in my mind that Showtime and CBS want this match to happen,” wika ng pamosong promoter.

Dahil sa pagkakakumpleto ng lahat ng detalye sa fight contract, ang tanging sinasabing magiging dahilan ng pag-atras muli ni Mayweather ay ang istilo ni Pacquiao na maaaring makapagpalasap sa kanya ng kauna-unahan niyang pagkatalo.

“Mayweather knows more about the boxing end of this, not the business end of this, the boxing side. He’s a student of boxing,” sabi ni Arum. “The worst style that he can fight is Manny Pacquiao, who’s left handed, who throws punches from all angles, and will match him in speed. That’s not a good fight for Floyd Mayweather.”

Iginiit ni Arum na itutulak pa rin niyang maitakda ang Pacquiao-Mayweather super showdown sa Mayo 2 ng taong ito.

“We are going to push this to the end. We’re not going to let them off of the hook. We want this fight to happen. The public wants it. It’s time to stop fooling around,” ani Arum. (RC)
