‘Di bumitaw ang alaska

MANILA, Philippines - Bagama’t tinambakan ng Road Warriors ng 15 puntos sa third period, hindi nakita sa mukha ni Alaska head coach Alex Compton ang pagkalito.

Ang sinabi lamang ni Compton sa kanyang koponan ay higpitan ang depensa para muling gumanda ang kanilang opensa.

“We just needed to make good decisions, make stops try to get back in the game,” sabi ni Compton na nagresulta sa come-from-behind 90-84 win ng Alaska kontra sa NLEX para makalapit sa isa sa dalawang automatic semifinals seat sa 2014-2015 PBA Philippine Cup kagabi sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bumangon ang Aces mula sa 15-point deficit, 41-56, sa 5:10 minuto ng third period para ipalasap sa Road Warriors ang pa-ngalawang sunod nitong kamalasan.

Huling nahawakan ng NLEX ang unahan sa 82-76 sa huling dalawang minuto ng laro bago naghigpit ng depensa ang koponan ni Compton.

“It means that we’re playing as a team particularly. Defensively, hindi pa ganoon kaganda opensa namin,” sabi ni Compton. “It’s been our defense that’s the character for our guys. NLEX can really score but we held them at 39 percent.”

Nagtuwang sina ve-teran shooter Dondon Hontiveros, Calvin Abueva, JVee Casio at Sonny Thoss para sa 86-82 abante ng Aces sa huling 20.6 segundo. (RCadayona)
