8-player ng EAC, 9 sa MIT pinarusahan ng NCAA

MANILA, Philippines - Pinatawan ng limang game suspension si John Tayongtong ng Emilio Aguinaldo College Ge-nerals matapos ang panu-nuntok kay Carlos Isit ng Mapua Cardinals na nagpasimula ng rambulan sa 90th NCAA men’s basketball noong Lunes sa The Arena sa San Juan City.

Nagpulong ang Management Committee kahapon at umabot sa walong Generals ang suspindido habang siyam ang pinarusahan sa hanay ng Cardinals.

Si Leo Gabo na itinulak si Tayongtong, ang may pinakamabigat na kaparusahan sa panig ng Cardinals sa apat na la-rong suspension.

Ang mga napatawan pa ng kaparusahan sa Mapua ay sina Jomari Tubiano (3 games), Justin Serrano, James Galoso, Exeqiel Biteng at Andrew Estrella (2 games) at sina Jerome Canaynay, Ronnel Villasenor at Darrel Magsigayi (one game).

Tatlong larong suspindido sa Generals sina Jan Jamon, Ariel Aguilar at Jack Arquero, dalawang laro sina John Santos, Manelle Quilanita at Edsel Saludo at one game si Faustine Pascual.

Si Isit ay hindi nasuspindi tulad nina Jessie Saitanan, Joseph Eriobu at Jeson Cantos ng Cardinals at sina Jereld Serrano, Christ Mejos, Al Indin at Jozhua General ng EAC.

Indefinite suspension at fines ang ipinataw ni league commissioner Arturo Cristobal kina referees Molly de Luna, Menard Ballecer at Cholo Caoile dahil hindi nila nakontrol ang mainitang laro.

“The Mancom condemns in the hightest level the unfortunate incident that occurred in the Mapua-EAC Games. Hooliganism has no place in an established league like the NCAA,” wika ni Mancom chairman Paul Supan ng host Jose Rizal University. (AT)
