2 silver medal kay Lavandia

KITAKAMI CITY, Japan – Nanalo si Erlinda Lavandia ng dalawang silver medal-- sa discus throw at shot put, para kumplimentuhan ang kanyang naunang bronze medal sa hammer throw nitong Sabado sa  18th Asia Masters Athletics Championships sa Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

Naglista si Lavandia ng distansiyang 20.62 meters para makuntento sa second place sa likod ni Matsuoka Kanako ng Japan na nagtala ng gold medal clinching 23.11 meters sa discus throw event para sa women’s 60-64 years old category.

Pumangalawa uli si Lavandia kay Kanako, kapwa niya Asian Gamer, sa shot put para sa kanyang ikalawang silver medal. Naghagis siya ng distansiyang 8.64 meters na kinapos sa 9.52 meters ni Kanako sa parehong age category.

Nauna nang nanalo si Lavandia ng bronze medal sa hammer throw event noong Biyernes  at pinaghahandaan naman niya ang kanyang paboritong javelin event kung saan siya pa rin ang reigning champion.

Naghatid naman si Margarito Baniqued ng isa pang bronze medal para sa Pinas mula sa 5.000-m walk para sa 55-59 years old division.

Ang biyahe Philippine Team ay sinuportahan ng San Miguel Corporation, Petron, Sportscore, L-Time Studio, Soma, El Lobo Energy Drink, Accel, PCSO, PSC at POC.
