32-year old record ni ‘Diay’ hinigitan ng UE trackster

MANILA, Philippines - Tuluyan nang nabasag ang 32-gulang na Philippine record ni Lydia De Vega sa women’s 400 meter run sa Season 76 athletics competitions ng UAAP na idinaos sa La Salle-Dasmariñas Track and Field Stadium.

Itinala ni Jenyrose Rosales ng University of the East ang bagong Philippine mark na 54.65 segundo sa heats pa lamang ng 400m run.

Ito ang sumira sa 54.75 segundong marka ni De Vega na kanyang ipinoste sa Manila Southeast Asian Games noong 1981 sa Rizal Memorial Oval.

Sa paggabay ni dating National athlete Elma Muros Posadas at  asawa nitong si Jojo Posadas, si Rosales ang nagbida sa athletics competition na pinagharian ng UE na kumuha sa overall title sa men’s at women’s divisions.

Kailangan pang i-ratify ng Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association (PATAFA) ang record ni Rosales.
