Bigo si So kay Tobmashevsky

MANILA, Philippines - Nakawala kay Grandmaster Wesely So ang isa sanang draw na nagresulta sa kanyang kabiguan kay Russian GM Evgeny Tomashevsky sa 51 moves ng Grunfeld Defense sa una sa kanilang two-game second round duel sa FIDE World Chess Cup sa Tromso, Norway.

Nanggaling si So sa 1.5-.5 paggupo kay Ukranian-born Alexander Ipatov ng Turkey sa opening round.

Nakorner ni So ang rook ni Tomashevsky ngunit naipamigay naman ang kanyang tatlong pawns at isang bishop na naging dahilan ng kanyang pagkatalo.

Dahil sa kabiguan kay Tomashevsky, ang 2009 European champion at miyembro ng Russian team na kumuha ng gold medal sa World Team Cham-pionships, kailangan ni So na maipanalo ang kanilang ikalawang laro.
