Mas pipiliin ni Marquez na labanan si Bradley

MANILA, Philippines - Kung mabibigyan ng pagkakataon, mas pipiliin ni Juan Manuel Marquez na hamunin si world welterweight titlist Timothy Bradley, Jr. kaysa muling labanan si Filipino world eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao.

Sinabi ng 39-anyos na si Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KOs) na mas gusto niyang maagaw sa 29-anyos na si Bradley (30-0-0, 12 KOs) ang hawak nitong World Boxing Organization welterweight title.

“If we continue in boxing, of course I would be thinking about winning a fifth championship,” sabi ng world four-division titlist na si Marquez sa kagustuhang hamunin si Bradley. “I have not decided my future. For now I’m focused on my family.”

Tinalo ni Bradley si Russian challenger Ruslan Provodnikov (22-2-0, 15 KOs), naging sparmate ni Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KOs), via unanimous decision noong Linggo sa Home Depot Center sa Carson, California.

Ang WBO belt ni Bradley ay kanyang inagaw mula sa 34-anyos na si Pacquiao galing sa kontrobersyal na split decision win noong Hunyo 9, 2012.

“Of course, going after the WBO title would be a possibility,” ani Marquez. “Why not go after a fifth title.”

Ang planong pang-limang banggaan nina Pacquiao at Marquez ay inaasahang pag-uusapan sa pagharap-harap nila sa Abril 6 sa Macau kasama si Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions.

Sinabi ni Arum na magkikita sina Pacquiao at Marquez sa Macau para panoorin ang pro debut ni Chinese two-time Olympic Games gold medal winner Zou Shiming laban kay Eleazar Valenzuela (2-1-2, 1 KO) ng Mexico sa isang four-round flyweight fight sa Venetian’s Cotai Arena.
