San Beda overall champon sa NCAA

MANILA, Philippines - Inangkin ng San Beda ang general championships sa senior division sa ikatlong sunod na taon, habang kinumpleto ng San Sebastian ang ‘four-peat’ sa juniors’ class nang bumandera sa track and field sa 88th NCAA season.

Ang panalo ng Red Lions sa football, ang kanilang pangatlong sunod na taon na dominasyon, ang sumel-yo sa kanilang ikatlong general championship.

Humakot ang San Beda ng kabuuang 538 points kasunod ang St. Benilde Blazers na may 502 points.

“It’s a proud accomplishment of the school and a tribute to San Beda’s sports program,” sabi ni San Beda board representative Jose Mari Lacson. “Of course, the team wouldn’t have done it without the support of the school, all our patrons and supporters who were there from the start.”

Ang iba pang pinagharian ng Red Lions ay ang mga labanan sa basketball, men’s at women’s swimming at men’s table tennis.

Sumandig naman ang Blazers sa kanilang mga tagumpay sa men’s at women’s taekwondo at soft tennis at pumangalawa sa chess, men’s at women’s swimming at women’s table tennis.

Pumangatlo naman sa San Beda at St. Benilde ang San Sebastian kasunod ang Perpetual Help, winalis ang men’s at women’s beach at indoor volleyball, na may 388 points.

Ang mga nasa Top 10 ay ang Arellano U (381), Letran (368), Emilio Aguinaldo (362), Lyceum (191), Jose Rizal (137) at Mapua (133).

Dinomina naman ng SSC Staglets ang track and field para sa kanilang ikaapat na sunod na high school title sa likod ng 295 points kasunod ang Letran (294 points).

Nanalo ang San Sebastian sa taekwondo event at kumuha ng runner-up finishes sa basketball at volleyball tournament habang ang kalabang Letran ay nagkampeon naman sa mga event na chess, lawn tennis at table tennis.
