Final na, MIFF sa Hollywood Kanselado!

So naglabas na ng statement finally ang Manila International Film Festival which said, “Manila International Film Festival postpones its second edition due to wildfires.

“Due to the devastating wildfires in Southern California, the Manila International Film Fest postponed its second edition, scheduled from January 30 to February 2, to a later date this year that will be announced.

“MIFF was going to show MMFF entries plus special screening films at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and hold a closing night awards gala at the International Ballroom of The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

“Omen Ortiz, MIFF chairman and co-founder, said in a statement:

“Because of the catastrophic wildfires that are heavily affecting Southern California, we at the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) are postponing our second 2025 edition, originally scheduled from January 30 to February 2, to a later date to be announced.

“We are devastated by the tremendous impact of the wildfires on many people, including the Filipino community. At this time, as we pray for the people experiencing trauma and loss, we ask all to continue supporting the fire relief efforts.

“We look forward to announcing the new dates of this year’s MIFF where we plan to honor the frontline workers and volunteers, including the Filipino first responders, who are heroically battling the wildfires.”

Good judgment call ang pagko-call off ng MIFF somehow.

“Plane tickets bought and accommodations booked for our film “Songs For the Fireflies” world premiere for the Manila International Film Festival but just learned that it will be postponed for a later dates due to the wildfires in So-Cal, a decision that was not wasn’t to make by the organizers but our team agrees with 100%.

Nag-claim na ang And The Breadwinner Is... na naka P400M.

All in all, hopeful ang entries na may buhay pa ang mga pelikula beyond the MMFF.

And then may mga international filmfests pa and of course, streaming device.

Nakakataquote:

“To say that I am so excited for this upcoming concert with Mr. C (Ryan Cayabyab) and Louie Ocampo is truly an understatement. They are and forever will be my music heroes. “
