Star Magic at International Acting School, nagsanib

Nagkaroon ng official announcement at contract signing ng partnership ng Star Magic at ng Sightlines’ Actors Space noong Oct.16 sa Coffee Project, Will Tower.

Instrumental ang Star Magic workshops sa pagbuo ng maraming accomplished na artists ngayon, at ilan sa kanila ay sina Kathryn Bernardo, Kim Chiu, Belle Mariano, Charlie Dizon, at Arjo Atayde, na nagbigay ng international recognition sa bansa.

Nangako ang Star Magic na palalakasin pa ang opportunities para sa kanilang artists at aspiring talents, official na katuwang ng talent management arm ang Sightlines’ Actors Space na isang international acting school na kilala sa kanilang award-winning Meisner Core Program.

Ang Meisner technique ay naka-focus sa idea na ‘acting is the ability to behave absolutely truthfully under the imaginary circumstances.’ Ito ay sa pamamagitan ng emotional preparation, repetition exercises, at improvisation. Ang technique na ito ay kilalang ginagamit ng mga A-list Hollywood actors tulad nina Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise, Sandra Bullock, Jim Carrey, at Timothée Chalamet. Ilan sa mga Star Magic artists na nag-workshop ng Meisner Program sina Race Matias, Mutya Orquia, Harvey Bautista, at JM De Guzman.

Dumalo sa nasabing contract signing sina Alecsx Lorica, ang founder at artistic director ng Sightlines, kasama ang operations director na si Marcel David. Present din ang kanilang partnerships director na si Mikel Godinez, business and community development director Dads Valencia, at marketing director Isabelle Prado.

“I’ve been exposed to other techniques also, which I do love. But what’s wonderful about Meisner, I think, is that it’s applicable regardless of the medium. Kasi we’ve had students who are theater actors, who are film actors, who are voice actors… because it’s focused on building foundational skills, you can really use it regardless of the medium,” sabi ni Alecsx.

“The great thing about our class, yung fundamentals, is that we actually treat it as an open class. Even our students right now, kahit nag-e-explore na sila or nag-intermediate na, bumabalik at bumabalik pa rin sila sa foundational—sa fundamentals class. There’s always something new to learn,” bahagi ni Marcel.

Present din sa signing ang Head of Finance ng Star Magic, Ed Capulong, at ang Head ng Star Magic na si Direk Laurenti Dyogi.

“We’re looking forward to a long partnership… Timing siya to the time we are exploring as well. There are no coincidences,” pahayag ni Direk Lauren.

Dagdag niya: “We welcome everybody who would like to explore playing roles, being more creative, having fun, and wanting to be in the industry. Somehow, maybe this might be a doorway for you to get into the industry.”

Inanunsyo rin ang mga bagong courses na gagamit ng Meisner Technique sa nalalapit na pagbubukas ng Star Magic worshop ngayong November. Pangungunahan ng mga Meisner instructors mula sa Sightlines Actors’ Space ang Meisner Acting Workshops for Teens, Meisner Acting Workshops for Adults, at isang Meisner Masterclass.
