Arjo at Maine, ini-enjoy muna ang isa’t isa; aktor nagsalita kung ba’t umayaw sa incognito

Inamin ni Arjo Atayde na dapat ay kasama siya sa action series na Incognito na pinagbibidahan nina Richard Gutierrez and Daniel Padilla, pero kailangan niya itong tanggihan dahil sa ibang mga commitment.

“I feel really bad to be not part of the show for anything, but again, like what I said po, hindi ko na papahabain ang aking explanation. It was with a heavy heart that I had to decline, as I clearly have other priorities at the moment. And although I really want to be 100 percent committed, if I’m not 100 percent, then it would also be unfair to my co-actors. And I’ve always worked a hundred percent for these. So if given the opportunity, of course I wanted to give it my all. Ang Cattleya Killer ay isang Filipino crime-thriller series mula sa ABS-CBN at Nathan Studios (pag-aari ng kanilang pamilya na entertainment production). Nag-premiere ito globally sa Prime Video nung June 1, 2023.

Sa direksyon ni Dan Villegas at panulat ni Dodo Dayao, umiikot ito sa murder investigation na konektado sa lumang kaso sangkot ang isang notorious serial killer. Pinagsasama ng show ang suspense, mystery, at psychological drama.

Nakakuha ang show ng worldwide acclaim for its gripping plot, high production value, and strong performances, lalo na si Arjo, kaya naman nakaposisyon ang Catt­leya Killer bilang isa sa mga most significant Filipino crime dramas in recent years.

Sa awards ceremony sa Taipei, sinabi ni Arjo ang kanyang heartfelt gratitude sa lahat ng tumulong upang makamit niya ang victory na ito. “Thank you to everyone. I’m forever indebted to all the actors that I work with, to the people behind the camera, to everyone who’s helped me be here, gather all this power to actually pull through this good series,” na pinapanood nga sa invited press sa kanyang pa-thanksgiving.

Patuloy na pinasalamatan ni Arjo ang kanyang pamilya, lalo na ang kanyang asawa na si Maine Mendoza. “It’s my first time in Taipei, this is such a reward for a first time here,” he gushed. “Last but not the least, my family. Thank you so much to my family for supporting so much, to my wife who understands so much of the hard work that we have to pull through to be able to do this.”

Pinasalamatan din niya ang ABS-CBN sa suporta nito.

Ang performance ni Arjo sa Catt­leya Killer ang tumalo sa lima pang mga nominado para sa tropeo ng 2024.

Ito ang latest sa string of international accolades sa mister ni Maine. Sumunod ito sa 2020 Best Actor win niya at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for his role in Bagman, kung saan ginampanan niya ang papel ng isang barbero na sangkot sa mapanganib na mundo ng pulitika. Siya ang unang Pilipino na napangaralan ng pinaka-prestihiyosong platform para sa creative excellence ng rehiyon.

Maliban sa kanyang thriving acting career, siya ay Representative ng Unang Distrito ng Quezon City, at itinanggi niyang mamamahinga na siya sa susunod na election dahil papalitan na siya ng kanyang inang si Sylvia Sanchez.

Anyway, pagdating sa misis niyang si Maine, parati raw siyang excited sa tuwing magkakaroon sila ng chance na mag-travel. “Because those are the only times talaga na we get to spend time together – to be honest. Kasi ‘pag nandito po sa Manila, of course meron din siyang responsibilities. She also has commitments to attend to and also me as well. I juggle up all these things. But rest assured, it’s just time management, proper time management. And we’re both very happy. Yeah, it’s just really time management po. And she’s always on my priority at the end of the day as well,” sabi pa ng aktor/pulitiko na tila sagot sa intriga kamakailan na may pinagdaraanan silang mag-asawa.

Sinagot din niya ang kumalat na isyung buntis na ang misis nung nawala ito sa Eat Bulaga kamakailan. “Ah hindi po. We went on a vacation for our first wedding anniversary po.”

Pero pinag-uusapan na ba nila ang pagkakaroon ng baby? “Secret na lang po. Of course, we talk about it, but that’s between us, muna. For now, we’re really enjoying each other’s time. Kasi hindi naman po ito mauulit na kaming dalawa na lang together for a long time. So, we’re just enjoying and ‘yun secret na lang po kung kailan. That’s between us na lang but definitely, we talk about it po.”
