John, mas ramdam ang purpose sa pagdidirek

Bukod sa pagiging aktor ay aktibo rin si John Prats sa pagiging isang direktor. Nagsimulang maging direktor ni John sa Tagpuan concert ni Moira noong 2018.  “I felt that Moira and I were on the right page at that time. We were on the same page. Most of Cornerstone’s artists were singers. So that time, if I was going to direct concerts, that was the strength of Cornerstone. There was one production guy who told me, ‘Direk, ang dami mong raket!’ Working in concerts is not just raket for me. This is my passion. This is my main job,” nakangiting bungad ni John.

Matatandaang nagsimula bilang child actor noon sa Ang TV si John. Mahigit tatlong dekada nang aktibo sa show business ang aktor. Ngayon ay ang pagiging direktor ang pinagtutuunan ng panahon ni John. “Since I decided to focus on this path, I missed this one. In 2020 there were no live events. The fire, the stress, the pressure. So, when Ang Probinsyano ended, I directed the concert of Korean artist Jessi.

“After that, I never stopped. Mas nararamdaman ko mas matindi ang purpose ko when I’m directing. Sa taping tengga ka lang (bilang aktor) while waiting for your scenes. You just wait in the tents when the director calls on you.

“When you’re the director, you think about everything. You have a lot of responsibility. That is really what I like. I want more responsibilities. Mas may purpose ako. Mas may authority,” paglalahad niya.

Matatandaang si John ang naging direktor ng ABS-CBN Christmas Special noong 2021. Mahalaga para sa actor-director na mapagkatiwalaan siya ng Kapamilya network upang pamunuan ang naturang proyekto. “That was the most meaningful Christmas special of the network. Since that was the year ABS-CBN lost its franchise and it’s the first Christmas amid the pandemic. I really don’t know how to direct. Kung ano lang ang maganda sa mata ko. For that Christmas special, I directed more than a hundred stars. The special ran for four hours. I will never forget that moment and all the people who worked with me and gave me the opportunity,” pagbabahagi pa ng actor-director.

Joao, gustong magkaroon ng tatak

Unang nakilala si Joao Constancia bilang isa sa mga finalist ng Pinoy Boyband Superstar noong 2016. Naging miyembro si Joao ng grupong Boyband Ph at mula noon ay sumabak na rin ang binata sa pag-arte. Marami nang nagampanang karakter si Joao at ngayon ay napapanood bilang si Carlo Tiu sa Can’t Buy Me Love na pinagbibidahan nina Belle Mariano at Donny Pangilinan. “I’ve been vocal about it naman since Boyband. I’m into acting talaga, ito passion. So ngayon na nandito na ako sobrang saya ko. Being an artista for me, you have to sing, act and dance. It has been a training ground for me. So, I’m happy about that. It’s done already. It’s in the past. I just wanna focus about my passion talaga, which is acting,” paglalahad ni Joao.

Nangangarap ang binata na mabigyan ng isang kakaibang role na posibleng tatatak sa mga manonood. “I’ve been into psychological movies. So, gusto ko na ma-portray ang something in that genre sa movie or teleserye. Gusto ko talaga napapaisip ‘yung mga tao kung how is this character gonna act. I don’t want it to be easy straight on. I want them to think that is he a good or bad guy,” pagbabahagi ng aktor. — Reports from JCC
