Piolo, lalaking walang pahinga

Piolo Pascual

“Push yourself to always do something different and I guess for my growth as well for my evolution. I wanna be able to give myself that challenge so that I can become better. And I have this big opportunity to be able to choose the roles that I can play. And this time around with the streaming platform, mas broad na po kasi ‘yung mga roles na pwede mong tanggapin so mas madali nang mag-diversify nowadays. I guess for me, I’m just really passionate about my job, what I do and open po ako sa kahit anong role na pwedeng magbigay sa akin ng challenge para mag-grow pa rin po ako sa craft ko,” sabi niya sa ginanap na presscon ng MMFF movie entry niyang Mallari na tatlong character ang ginampanan niya kung saan ay gaganap siya bilang Fr. Juan Severino Mallari, ang first Filipino priest executed by the Spanish colonial government.

“It helped that I requested for a lock-in because I didn’t wanna, you know, get distracted, but at the same time, I just wanted to focus because, you know, doing three roles was a heavy task,” aniya sa grand mediacon ng Mallari.

“I had good sleep naman after every shoot and everything just, I guess, fell into place, you know. It was a fun set even if it was a heavy material. So, we were taken care of really well,” dagdag although sinabi niyang natakot siyang gampanan ang nasabing role.

“Living the character was nakakatakot. Yeah, it was scary. But I didn’t have naman nightmares. But it was fun actually doing it. I really enjoyed it. Given a chance to do something like this again, I would do it in a heartbeat.”

Si Mallari ang first and only recorded Filipino serial killer ever antedating Jack the Ripper by more than 60 years.

Mapapanood Mallari umpisa sa Dec. 25, produced by Mentorque Productions at distributed ng Warner Bros. Pictures.
