MANILA, Philippines — Inilabas ni Chair Lala Sotto ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ang mga natanggap na mga alarming online attack niya sa social media accounts ng MTRCB.
“Over the past weeks, we have experienced an unfortunate surge in threatening messages on our official social media pages, including explicit rape and death threats directed at Chairperson Lala Sotto,” pahayag ni MTRCB Vice Chairman Njel De Mesa.
“No Filipino deserves such kind of unfounded personal attack. We must not resort to personal attacks because our agency is just doing its mandate,” dagdag naman ni MTRCB Executive Director II Atty. Mamarico Sansarona Jr.
Bagama’t kinikilala diumano ng MTRCB ang kahalagahan ng constructive criticism at open dialogue, mariin nilang kinokondena ang any form of threats threats, harassment, or violence, both online and offline.
Ang ganito umanong pag-uugali ay hindi lamang ilegal ngunit hindi umaayon sa mga prinsipyo ng isang Filipino value-based media at entertainment culture na itinataguyod ng MTRCB.
