Karen Davila ibinida anak na may autism matapos makapasok sa UP Diliman
MANILA, Philippines — Flinex ng Kapamilya broadcast journalist na si Karen Davila ang anak na si David sa unang araw niya sa University of the Philippines, ito habang pinupuri ang pamantasan sa pagbibigay ng pagkakataon sa mga may kapansanan.
"PROUD OF YOU DAVID Wow! This day!! David, now a freshman at the UP College of Fine Arts for the Associate in Arts undergraduate program!" wika ng beteranang mamamahayag sa Facebook nitong Miyerkules.
"Last May 2023, David took the talent determination test along with hundreds of students at the UP Diliman campus. No parents allowed during testing. By June, we got the letter that David made it!"
Hunyo 2022 lang nang mapahanga ni David ang publiko matapos magdaos ng art exhibit kasama ang mga kaklase, ang kita ng nabanggit ay ibinigay nila sa Missionaries of the Poor.
Tinutulungan naman daw sa ngayon si David ng kanyang mga guro mula sa Vanguard para makapag-adjust sa buhay kolehiyo at kanyang mga klase.
"Preparing a child in the autism spectrum for college takes a lot of support & planning. Thank so much to my alma mater - UP DILIMAN, the officials of UPFCA for choosing INCLUSIVITY," dagdag pa niya.
"It is true, 'It takes a village to raise a child' Even more so, a child with needs. Thank you teachers, David is in college because of all of you.'"
