By the time na binabasa ninyo ito, malamang ay nasa Tokyo na ang tropa ng pelikulang When I Met You In Tokyo na pinangungunahan ng iconic loveteam nina Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon.
Reunion project ito nina Boyet and Ate Vi after 20 years kaya naman pareho silang excited.
“Tinanong ko lang kung ano ‘yung synopsis, ‘it’s a love story’ and then sabi ko ‘sinong kasama?’, sabi ‘Christopher de Leon’, ‘Yes!’ Sabi ko kaagad yes kasi na-miss ko rin ‘yung team-up namin ni Yet-Bo. Matagal na rin, 15 years, ‘no. Last movie yata Dekada then Mano Po so alam ko kahit paano nand’yan pa rin ‘yung mga crowd namin ni Yet-Bo. Ang ganda kasi ng istorya, at ‘yung istorya kasi ay tatakbo rin sa edad namin but it’s a love story. It’s a love story na nasa edad namin. Hindi kami magbabata-bataan dito. And at the same time, what’s important is istorya ‘to ng mga OFWs na nasa Japan,” kuwento ni Ate Vi.
“It’s a very very good comeback for me after seven years na hindi visible sa show business.
“Imagine, dalaga’t binata pa lang kami ni Yet-Bo magkasama na kami, hanggang gumawa na kami ng mga relevant film, hanggang nag-asawa na kami pareho, nagkaroon na kami ng pamilya sa bawat isa and then heto pa rin kami and we’re still doing a movie together,” chika pa ni Ate Vi sa ginanap na contract signing with the producers – Rowena Jamaji and Rajan Gidwani of When Met You in Tokyo last Wednesday na ginanap sa Okura Hotel.
“The chemistry that we have plus the fact na ang audience namin tinanggap kami for so many years, kaya eto may ma-ooffer uli kami sa inyo. May audience na kami ni Yet-Bo, meron na kaming mga fans, kaya excited kami na gawin ito for them at sana madagdagan pa,” masayang kuwento pa ni Ate Vi na almost seven years ding hindi napanood sa pelikula.
Ayon naman sa veteran actor, hindi mabigat ang kuwento nito.
“Very light, romantic and a visual feast. We have a very good storyline. We have music, that’s why the title is ‘When I Met You.’ If you listen really hard to the lyrics of the song, it will tell you the story of what we’re going to do,” aniya na magiging co-director din ng pelikula.
“We’ll be doing a love story na hindi kami dapat magpa-cute pero dapat ‘yung manonood mai-inlove, ‘yung ganon ba. Hindi madali ‘yun. Kasi hindi naman kami 21 years old. Ang gusto naming targetin ay ang love story na nababagay sa amin. And when you watch it, you will fall in love at sasabihin mo sa sarili mo na may pag-asa pa,” pagdidiin pa ng award-winning actress.
“We would like to show the titos and titas that you can still fall in love, be in love, and be loved. Walang age-age dito. Once you feel it, you fall in love, you show it and give it your all,” dagdag pa niya.
“I know that I need a little push and motivation so that I can go back to where I was before. My enthusiasm is still there, but it turned a bit rusty with the seven years I was absent. Being with Boyet and getting some guidance from the team will be a big help.
“ I didn’t shoot movies for so long!” pagtatapos pa ng aktres.
Sa September ang target playdate ng pelikula.
