“I had offers naman kahit before pa. It just wouldn’t match with my schedule. Kasi I am a very hands-on mom. So every time na babangga siya sa duties ko as a mother, nahihirapan akong mag-schedule. But I’m not closed to it. It has to take a certain kind of project like something make my heart jump and also sana ‘yung director, somebody na I really look up to,” nakangiting pahayag ni Rica.

“Actually, the one that I really loved to do was before my second born, bago ako ma-pregnant sa kanya. I was offered a teleserye, I really want to do it, but I was trying for my second baby. So parang I had to choose na. Kasi if I took that project, hindi ako pwedeng magbuntis for a year or more. So, I prayed about it, baby talaga ang nauna,” kwento niya.

“I missed working with amazing people. To work with the great ones in the industry. Learning from them being able to surround myself with highly skilled people. I missed also being adventurous, being thrown all over the world, ‘di ba just to do the work,” pagtatapos ng aktres.

Yeng, magme-mentor

Kasi nag-start ako singing contest from 9 years old to 15 years old. From 16 naman, 17 and 18 nagbabanda na ako sa Marikina. So parang in a night I will sing 30 songs. But when I got into the industry do’n ko na-realize na sobrang kulang pa pala even meron na akong natural talent, hindi pa rin eh. Maswerte lang ako na after I won Pinoy Dream Academy, Direk Lauren (Dyogi) and Pinoy Dream Academy production nag-hire po sila ng vocal teacher and even performance teacher for me.

Reports from JCC
