Ang Pagrampa ng Piloto

May dalawang imahe itong si Dan Bascon (wala raw s’ya kinalaman kay Joem!)Ang una ay ang pagiging ramp and commercial model n’ya na nagbigay sa kanya ng pagkakataon para magkaroon ng titulo sa isang male pageant. (may kasama kaya itong titulo ng lupa?!)

“I was discovered by Sir. Michael Barassi and Sir Jun Guzman from our province Nueva Vizcaya, and they managed me since then. One time they asked me to join a male pageant, the MR. GRAND PHILIPPINES, where I got the 4th place, aside from special awards, like the Best in Resorts Wear and Best in Catwalk awarded/sponsored by The Fashion Designer Association of the Philippines, and  as they say, the rest is history.“ Pag-alala ni Dan (ay gusto pa ata maging historian! ask natin si ella cruz!)

Ang pangalawa namang pinagkakaabalahan n’ya ay ang pagiging private pilot. (ay how private is private?!) Nagtapos s’ya ng kursong BS Aircraft Maintenance and Technology sa PATTS College of Aeronautics. (so, nagbutingting muna ng eroplano bago naging piloto!)

“To become a full fledged pilot, you have to undergo several trainings and gain “flight hours”, divided into private and commercial. I am done with the training and the flight hours required for private pilots, and will soon start commercial pilot training. “Pagpapaliwanag ni Dan. (sana masakyan kita bro! I mean yung eroplano mo!)

Ang pagpipiloto ay isang matagal na n’yang pangarap at ng kanyang pamilya.

“Being a pilot was a childhood dream. Growing up in a province, like Nueva Vizcaya, people rarely see airplanes. Hence, when I see airplanes in the sky I became fascinated, so I started to think that someday I’d be able to fly one. “(liparin natin ang langit bro!)

Sa ngayon, gusto n’yang sabay na ipagpatuloy ang dalawa n’yang career. “At this point in my life, I can say that both being a pilot and a model have become my passion. And I don’t see any hindrance in pursuing both and I do not close my doors to every opportunity that comes. Every opportunity is a blessing. It all depends on proper time management and work ethics.” (parang i-pursue ata kita bro!)

Hindi rin isinasara ng 27 anyos na binata ang kanyang pinto para sa showbiz. (ay may ikatlong mukha pa ata!) Mahilig sya sa action films kaya kung papipiliin duon nya gusto sumabak. Pero di naman daw sya tatanggi kung ang role na ibigay ay may pagka-sexy, kahit pa raw magkaroon ng daring scene sa babae o kapwa lalaki.  (ay duon tayo sa kapwa ko, mahal ko!)

“I think doing sexy roles isn’t that new to me, since in modeling we do sexy shots as well, as if we are acting in a sexy movie. But I know it’s different in movies, so my decision to take on a sexy role in a movie or do sex scenes with fellow actors will have to depend on whether the sexy roles or scenes are necessary to the movie project.I always keep an open mind, and in our age today, these sexy scenes are acceptable and all are just part of the job. “ Pagbibida ni Dan. (maghahanda nako sa eksena natin bro!)

Sa kanyang guesting sa aming online show na WTFu, nabanggit nyang may mga ilang bading ang nangangahas na bigyan sya ng mga nakakalulang offer. (kasing taas ba ng height nya na 6’1?! Ang laki bro!) “I have nothing against gays. I have several gay friends who I get to hang out with. But if someone lets me feel uncomfortable, whether you are gay or straight, I will let the person feel that I am uncomfortable, like ignoring the person or sometimes I really tell the person that he/she has went overboard.” (tara bro, hang-out na tayo!)
