Bruno Mars hindi pinagbigyan ang MISS U!

MANILA, Philippines - Mali ang hula na magpe-perfom sa Miss Universe sa January 30 ang sikat na Fil-Am singer na si Bruno Mars.

Mismong si DOT Undersec Kat de Castro ang nag-deny sa kanyang radio interview the other day.

Pero meron daw talagang sikat na Fil-Am singer and group na mag-i-entertain sa mga manonood ng event sa MOA Arena.

At ang hula ng iba, Black Eyed Peas dahil nasa grupo ang Fil-Am na si Apl.de.Ap.

Nauna na kasing nag-deny si Lea Salonga na siya ang sinasabing may dugong Pinoy na sikat (sa ibang bansa) na performer sa Miss U.

Matteo nanganib ang buhay

Hindi lang basta magpapakilig at magpapa-sexy si Matteo Guidicelli sa pelikulang Across the Crescent Moon. Makikita rito ang kakaibang Matteo, full-fledged action hero sa pelikula ng Gold Barn na isinulat at idinirek ni Baby Nebrida with Bong Tan as executive producer.

Mismong si Matteo na ang nagsabi sa previous interview na hindi siya takot gumawa ng mga bagong bagay.

Bukod sa pagiging actor, dati na siyang car racing driver, triathlete, singer, at businessman pa.

May bagay pa kaya siyang hindi kayang gawin?

Gagampanan niya ang role ng matapang at noble Muslim soldier na nakikipaglaban sa kasamaan at kriminalidad particular na ang human trafficking and drug smuggling.

Balitang hindi si Matteo ang first choice na magbida sa Across the Crescent Moon pero it turned out daw na Matteo was the best choice na galing sa prominent family sa Cebu, Fernan. His grandfather was the cousin of former Supreme Court Chief Justice and Senate President Marcelo Fernan. At ang kanyang ama na isang Italian ay maraming negosyo sa Cebu.

Para sa kanyang Muslim role, mahirap at matagal ang pinagdaanang training ng actor at sa katunayan ay nanganib pa ang buhay niya.

“He does not complain. He’s nice to all his co-stars and co-workers,” pahayag ng director nilang si Baby Nebrida.

“I guess I’m a dreamer. I like to do so many things, but I know things don’t happen overnight when it comes to life, showbiz, and love. I think what is important is to be consistent in doing what you love to do. And you never stop,” pahayag niya sa interview ng Star Studio Magazine kamakailan.

Gaganap na Kristyanong misis niya si Alex Godinez with Christopher de Leon, Gabby Concepcion, Dina Bonnevie among others.

DOM babalik!

Balik-entablado ang Dirty Old Musical ng Spotlight Artists Centre na pag-aari ng world class theater actors na sina Robert and Isay Alvarez-Seña. Isang malaking tagumpay ang first run nito nung September at may clamor talaga for rerun.

Dirty Old Musical features a talented ensemble – John Arcilla, Nonie Buencamino, Michael Williams, Ricky Davao, and Robert Seña.

Sold out ang tickets at kinagiliwan ng mga manonood na game na nakipag-kantahan at nakipagsayawan with their nostalgic favorites ang DOM.

Tinatalakay sa kuwento ang trials and misadventures ng limang miyembro ng all-male 80’s singing group sa kanilang twilight years na muling nagsama-sama para sa isang noble cause at binigyan ng panibagong chance.

“We are very excited and I was particularly proud of Myke Solomon (musical director) and Robert, who were really the one who planned the musical. To hear the people laugh hard and see pasted smiles on their faces were a clear affirmation of our work,” sabi ni Ms. Isay.

Eight days lang ang unang run nito kaya marami talagaang nabitin.

“The January rerun is quite unlimited due to the complicated schedules, but we expect to do more as we find more free time among everyone,” dagdag pa ni Ms. Isay.

Bukod sa magagandang kanta na ginamit, pumatok din sa mga manonood ang ‘hugot-inducing’ themes  na umiikot sa friendship, bromance at ang endearing Pinoy trait of relying on humor to trump adversity.

Robert and Isay are even more optimistic now para sa kanilang follow up project, “Yes we have this show in mind that we’ve been wanting to see staged. Hopefully in two years’ time,” sabi ng dating star ng Miss Saigon.
