Derek kaya nang makipagtitigan kay Kris habang nakahubad

Si Derek Ramsay ang nakasungkit ng Best Actor award sa Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) noong isang taon para sa pelikulang English Only, Please. Ngayong taon ay kalahok naman ang pelikulang All You Need is Pag-ibig na pinagbibidahan nina Derek, Kris Aquino, Ian Veneracion, Jodi Sta. Maria, Xian Lim, at Kim Chiu. 

Ayon kay Derek ay hindi naman daw siya naghahangad na muling makamit ang nasabing award. “Winning the Best Actor is a great achievement, but it’s like a bonus for me. It’s not what I go for. I am a team player and I want to have a good project. I think we have one here that’s going to do well,” paliwanag ni Derek. 

Hindi rin nakararamdam ng pressure ang aktor kung magiging box-office ang kanilang pelikula. “I don’t pressure myself with numbers like that. I like to focus on my work para we can come up with a good project. So that I can be a team player. And then later on, when the project is done, that’s when I start thinking about how it’s going to do,” giit ni Derek. 

Mahigit isang dekada na ang nakalilipas nang magkasama sa isang TV commercial sina Derek at Kris at ngayon lamang magkakatambal sa isang pelikula. “I couldn’t look her in the eye (sa commercial noon). I’m proud that I can look her in the eye now in the scenes that we were doing with my shirt off,” nakangiting kwento ng aktor.

Sid aminadong ‘di mabuting ama

Aminado si Sid Lucero na hindi niya masyadong nakikita ang apat na taong anak na babae dahil sa nanay nito nakatira ang bata. “I’m not a very good dad. I don’t get to see my daughter a lot,” bungad ni Sid. 

Hindi raw ang aktor ang tipo na magiging istriktong ama sa anak. “No, I think it will depend on her personality. If she’s the type to get pregnant at 15 (years old) then I’ll be strict then. But if she’s the type that knows exactly what she’s doing, then I don’t know. I don’t want to think about that yet,” natatawang pahayag ni Sid. 

Kung sakaling magustuhan ng anak ng aktor na pasukin din ang show business ay hindi raw ito papayagan ni Sid. “No way. Depends on her, if she has the proper head for it. Because honestly the industry is poisonous, it poisons your ego and poisons you as a person. We all know it. It went throught it. It’s intoxicating and it takes a certain kind of person to really come in as a person to look up to and come out as exactly that. And if my daughter turns out to be a person who has a good head on her shoulders and has a strong personality, who is impervious to other people’s opinions, then she can handle it. Hopefully she gets into something that she likes, something creative. I don’t know, maybe music like her mom maybe,” paliwanag niya.
