MANILA, Philippines - Ang debut feature film ng director na si Cia Hermosa-Jorge at ang bagong release ng Till I’m 90 Films ay tungkol sa kwento ng 69-year old na si Lola Fely (Tessie Tomas).
Ang buhay ni Lola Fely ay umikot sa kaligayahan ng iba, sa kanyang asawa at pamilya. Nang mamatay ang kanyang asawa, hinanap niya ang kanyang pansariling kaligayahan.
Nahanap niya ang kasagutan sa kanyang pangarap, ang magtapos ng elementary. Bumalik si Lola Fely sa school para magtapos ng Grade 6 at dito niya naranasan ang walang awang mundo ng buhay eskuwela ng mga pre-teens. Makikita sa pelikula si Lola Fely habang kanyang nararanasan ang lunchroom politics, bullying, pakikipagkaibigan at paano makibaka sa pressure ng school.

Naging malapit sa puso ang tema ng pelikula kay Direk Cia dahil naihambing niya ito sa kanyang pagiging isang filmmaker.
Unang sumubok si Direk Cia sa filmmaking noong 2010 sa gabay ng late veteran director na si Marilou Diaz- Abaya. “Before studying film, I held a really good corporate job for over six years. At that time, my eldest son was starting to develop into his own person and that’s when I knew I had to set a good example for him and follow my passion. I wanted him to see his mother put in 100 % to pursue her dream because that’s how he’ll learn how to soar,” ayon kay Cia.
Dagdag niya, “On the first day of film school, I was so nervous because I was 30 and everything was uncertain. But I was so hungry to learn. Direk Marilou taught me that being a filmmaker is a vocation, a calling. You touch people’s hearts, you inspire action, and you make people realize things through film. It is a huge responsibility. Only five years later, and of course through blood, sweat and tears, we have Old Skool. There really is no end date for following your dream and reinventing yourself.”
Old Skool, starring Ms. Tessie Tomas, Angel Aquino at si Buboy Villar (Kid Kulafu) ay mapapanood na sa November 4, exclusively sa SM Cinema nationwide.
