Bagong award ng Thy Womb pinuri ni Sen. Loren
MANILA, Philippines - Masayang-masaya si Sen. Loren Legarda sa pinakabagong karangalang natamo ng Superstar na si Nora Aunor para sa kanyang pagganap bilang Badjao midwife sa pelikula ni Brillante Mendoza na Thy Womb. Siya ang nagwaging best actress sa 7th Asian Film Awards na ginanap kamakailan sa Hong Kong.
“I congratulate Ms. Nora Aunor as well as Mr. Eddie Garcia for their best actress and best actor awards. This only proves that Filipino thespians are talented and are at par with the best in the region. As a Filipino, I take pride in their achievements,†sabi ng senadora.
“The movie Thy Womb did not only showcase the acting talent of Ms. Aunor but also depict the struggles of the Badjaos and reveal new facets of their plight and the unique struggles of women.â€
Kung matatandaan, noong March 15 ay nagkaroon ng special screening ang Thy Womb sa Podium, Ortigas Center, Pasig City para mas marami pa ang makapanood nito. Proud si Sen. Loren sa paglalarawan ng kultura ng mga Muslim sa Tawi-Tawi sa indie film na obra ni Direk Brillante.
