“I should commend how persistent sir Ryan Mark (Hugyaw editor) was in persuading me to participate in the competition. At one point, what he said to me one time nga moabot gyud kuno ang panahon nga magpasalamat ko ni sir made me realized he actually had a point. This opportunity surprised me how supportive my family, my The Freeman family and friends are. This would be a once-in-a-lifetime for me in my media profession so why not? Aside from charging this to experience, it was indeed an honor to represent Cebu’s longest running newspaper,” suma ni Grace.

Suma pa ni Grace nga wala na siya’y plano nga mosalmot pa og laing mga indigay ug kontento na siya sa naangkon niya nga korona.
Migradwar si Grace sa University of San Jose – Recoletos sa kursong AB Mass Communication niadtong 2011 isip magna cum laude. Dakong garbo alang kang Grace nga nahimong sakop sa The Freeman family sanglit na-expose siya sa media world. Kanhi siya intern sa mantalaan.
“Dili man lisod ang pagsulod. I was already an intern way back when I was a student. When I finally decided to leave the BPO industry and pursue the media profession, I applied on the local TV networks and on print. I only chose The Freeman since I already had the sense of belongingness even before. I consulted Sir Nimrod Quiñones (former managing editor) and he said that I could send my resume anytime and he would just recommend me. It was easy since I guess they already knew my work attitude so they accepted me. Buotan baya ko nga bata. Heheh I am thankful to them for hiring me. If not, I’m not the one answering this interview,” suma pa ni Grace kinsa nagpasalamt usab sa general manager nga si Melandro Mendoza gumikan sa dakong pagsalig nga gihatag kaniya.
Suma pa ni Grace nga dako kaayo og papel ang media sa publiko gumikan kay mao kini ang tinubdan aron masayod ang katawhan sa mga panghitabo sa palibot.
“Nagtuo ko nga ang media industry maoy fourth estate of the society. Gitagaan nato ang publiko og newsworthy information that they ought to know. We stand as purveyors of truth and as watchdogs of the society, so we are that important.
Giangkon ni Grace nga dili sayon ang kinabuhi kung naa ka media gumikan kay kanunay ka mag-adjust sa bisan unsa nga sitwasyon nga imong maatubang apan kinahanglan nga mag-enjoy ka sa imo gibuhat aron dili ka bation og kakapoy.
“Lisod siya. Dili pud lalim makig-deal og lain-laing personalidad ug nagkadaiyang mga issues and concerns. But as long as you make it as fun as possible and you enjoy your job with your colleagues at work, it would be easier. Pun-an pa sa sense of fulfillment serving the public, pagkanindot ra ba,” matud pa ni Grace.

“They may just be national media practitioners and not international ones but they are icons of high credibility and excellence in mainstream media in the eyes of an aspiring news icon like me,hahaha,” hirit pa ni Grace.
