Miss Cebu 2011: Pagdughit sa Korona

CEBU, Philippines - Hay naku naku naku mga kapamilya ug mga kahugyawnatics! Sure gyud kong heavy ang traffic ug magbaha ang katawhan karong adlawa kay pormal nang sugdan ang Sinulog activities pinaagi sa usa ka solemn mass sa Basilica del Sto Niño nga pagasundan sa launching parade. Siyempre karong gabii pud ipahigayon ang Miss Cebu pre-pageant sa Fuente Osmeña Rotunda. Dinhi sa Banat News Hugyaw, ato nang napa-ilaila ang unang unom nga kandidata, karon, let’s get to know our next batch of candidates:

NAME: MAUREEN GAIL M. ESPINA

AGE: 19 YEARS OLD

COURSE: BACHELOR OF SCIENCE – PSYCHOLOGY

SCHOOL: UNIVERSITY OF SAN CARLOS

Banat Hugyaw: Why did you join miss cebu?

MAU: I joined Miss Cebu simply because I want to be an instrument of change, a change that is for the better and not for the worse. I know myself that I can be a role model to our fellow Cebuanos. 

Banat Hugyaw: If you win as miss cebu, what will be your first project?

MAU: I would like to provide shelter to the less fortunate kids and that they’d soon serve Cebu so let’s all take care of them as early as now.

Banat Hugyaw: What can you say about the miss cebu pageant?

MAU: It’s pageant with a really good cause. Miss Cebu is like a school. I felt like I’ve been trained to become someone better.

NAME: MIA ZEEBA FARIDOON

AGE: 19 YEARS OLD

COURSE: BACHELOR OF ARTS IN MASS COMMUNICATION

SCHOOL: UNIVERSITY OF CEBU

CLAIM TO FAME: MISS UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES 2010

Banat Hugyaw: How do you see yourself years from now?

MIA: I see myself on television as a stable TV reporter or a newspaper reporter.

Banat Hugyaw: If you’d wake up one day and gained a skill, what would it be?

MIA: I would have to say, the skill in self-defense. I look up to women who are not fragile and are equipped to defend themselves in any situation. It is important for me that a woman is fearless because confidence will come along with that with those assured, nothing will pose as a hindrance in countering the obstacles in life.

Banat Hugyaw: Kung dili ka, usa sa kandidata, kinsa para nimo ang mamahimong sunod nga miss cebu?

MIA: I think Panyang Llamada would win because she has the confidence and dedication to take the crown.
